SOGS Intro

Welcome to JS’ School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies at Jerusalem Seminary currently offers a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. This degree is focused primarily in the Hebrew Bible and a Judaic interpretive perspective of both testaments of the Bible. It is grounded in an engaging study of Biblical Hebrew as a living language and a robust course sequence in the study of the lands of the Bible, including two modules of study on the ground in Israel.
The School of Graduate Studies’ delivery model is designed to meet the demands of students both in Israel and abroad. The majority of our courses are taught live online, with options for asynchronous engagement. Whether you are a senior in your undergraduate degree, a minister seeking further preparation, or a professional who would like academic training in the area of biblical studies, Jerusalem Seminary’s MA in Biblical Studies has something to offer you.
Students in the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies will be trained in Biblical Hebrew, the study of the lands of the Bible, biblical literature, and biblical theology in an environment rich with spiritual reflection and committed to personal spiritual formation. This is a degree devoted to learning the content of the coursework AND to its application in ministry beyond the classroom and within the student’s daily life and religious devotion.

Jerusalem Seminary is a member of the the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE) and the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE). Though we are not currently accredited, we work in alignment with the standards they have set for institutions seeking accreditation, conforming to the highest standards in ministry and theological education.
Any internal JS credit will accrue and at a later time would hopefully, through articulation agreements and accreditation bodies, receive official accreditation; a process that JS has begun.
