PROFILE
Woody comes to Jerusalem Seminary after 30+ years serving in the Bible translation movement in various roles, from linguist-translator, to information technology specialist, to leadership. Most recently, he completed ten years serving as President of JAARS, Inc., a non-profit ministry providing technical and transportation support to Bible translators in the most remote and difficult places on earth.
His formal training focused on systems and software engineering, and his work experience before ministry included software engineering roles in the medical instrument and aerospace/defense industries. Woody also completed graduate-level linguistics and Bible translation training along with select seminary coursework, including Biblical Hebrew.
Woody has visited and served with local ministry partners on every continent except Antarctica, speaks French, and enjoys meeting and working with people from different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.
He has a deep love for and appreciation of the Bible, and enjoys helping others to grow in their understanding of the Scriptures and to apply them to their lives. When he’s not working, you’ll find him spending time with his family, playing pickup basketball or soccer, or woodworking.
